As I Crawl Around...

...on my knees, trying to pick up the 4mm Crystal Firepolish glass beads out of my rug that I dropped while trying to put them in their cute little container, I am struck with an idea.

I should make a bracelet called The Carpet Bracelet. It will be a freeform piece featuring all beads I manage to pick out of my rug.

  1. ha! I think we can all relate to that! I use my cats as a way to find beads. They hear them drop on the floor and I just look where they are looking!

Love the bracelet in the picture :)

  3. lol... isn't it amazing how many beads get stuck in rugs. if only there was some kind of magnet that could help us pick them up without having to crawl around

  4. That is an awesome idea...!!LOL...! You know how many carpet bracelets I could make out of the beads in my carpet right now as I type...?? I once dumped over my storage cube with all my swarovskis in it...1 day before my first show..I was beside myself...took 2 weeks to separate them all again...sigh

  5. I got rid of my carpet ages ago because of this. Did it help? NO! Now the bare floor swallows everything that lands on it, so I constantly sweep and usually find not what I dropped then and there but other stuff which was hiding for a while. All these sweepings make a lovely bead soup! I too will use those to make something unique. Or weird, depends.

  6. Haha, you made me laugh so hard! Sometimes I wonder when I lost this or that bead when I look through the bag of my vacuum cleaner (yes, I do that and rescue some treasures from there ;-)).
BTW, I left you an award, so check my blog.

  7. OMG LOL! That sounds like something I'd be doing if I beaded! ^-^ I should blog about the time I was using microbeads on a scrapbook page, and spilled a whole page of them down the front of my shirt, which had a plasticky iron-on on the front: It sounded just like Niagara Falls or a rain stick... XD Needless to say I just got out the vacuum cleaner!

  8. I like this idea, I'm not a beader. I gave all of my beads to a girlfriend. So I love to look and buy. giggles

  9. that's why you need wooden floors! I may be visiting Vegas next weekend and staying with Saftah. It just depends if my friends have room for me in the car. Will keep you posted. XO Shiran

  10. Carpets are a pain and eat beads. But try dropping them on laminate floors! They're like ping pong balls and bounce - Bong, bong, bong! By the time they stop bouncing, they could be rooms away. Very funny post. And lovely bracelet in the photo.
