Ok, not really another craft but another element to an existing craft. People are sentimental about their pet's ashes...aka cremains. (I'm not one of them.) So I'm offering to make jewelry with them. My first project is done. I did 2 pendants and a ring. I've already shipped them out and only have pictures of the ring. It's one of my new design, The Sparkling Bubble Ring, with ashes mixed in. (BTW in this project, it was not a beloved pet, but a beloved relative.)
I don't know whether Aussies would take to wering their beloved's remains in a piece of jewellery - although I guess its just an extension of mourning jewellery that often had a lock of hair etc. in it.?
ReplyDeleteThis is really an interesting concept. And if it helps a person feel closer to the one they've lost, that's really wonderful. Good going! And the ring is very pretty, too.
