DEAR HUNTING

From time to time, I gather small thoughts for my blog. They are too small to warrant their own post, so I put them all together in one crazy, mixed up blog. This is that blog.

1. This title came to me in a dream. Since I have Anthony, I’m not dear hunting (unless you know someone really rich?) and could not come up with anything to go with it. But I really really wanted to use it anyway. (I suppose if I Googled it, I’d find it’s been used, but I don’t even want to know. For now, it’s all mine.)

2. I worked with someone who, every Sunday, would go to the gift shop and buy a newspaper. At the time, I had a subscription so I started bringing in my paper so she’d save a few bucks. Eventually my subscription ended and I did not renew, so I could save a few bucks. Then, I noticed she went back to buying the newspaper on Sundays, and I would find it in the garbage. She’d never even ask if I’d like to read it. So what is that? Inconsideration? Selfishness? Self-centeredness? What???

3. It’s 10 steps to the garbage. Why, poker player, must you throw your trash under the table???

4. Corporations have RUINED Vegas! ‘Nuff said.

5. Sun City, please build in Reno.

Sad Carousel

Jackie has photo tagged me! Obviously I must be pokey as I keep getting tagged. I can walk fast but forget running away. This is the game where you pick the 6th photo from the 6th file, post and blog. Don't panic. I will not name names again, but please, consider posting your picture and story. It really is kind of fun. And check out Jackie's blog, Pink Diamond Workshop. It's pink and delicious, with no added colours or preservatives!

And now, I present, Sad Carousel. Off in the corner of some casino in Reno we found this bunch of carousel horses just laying there. Why were they there? I do not know. But a sad picture it was.

The Photo Tag Game/Jelly Donut

A new (to me) and fun tag game, the requirement is to choose the 6th folder and the 6th picture. Thanks for the hit Kimberly. Check out her blog and her Etsy shop, she is one talented tagger!

My picture is entitled Jelly Donut. Jelly Donut is located on Virginia Street, a main road in Reno, NV. It's the long stretch of Virginia between the regular casino section (downtown?) and the Atlantis/Peppermill section. In the 3 or 4 days we usually spend in Reno each visit, we drive this stretch countless times. Jelly Donut is one of those retro doughnut shops that have absolutely no decor, no charm, no warmth. But they do have pretty darn good doughnuts. I would prefer if it was called Baked Donut (I don't like jellies nor am I fond of putting food in my body that has been plunged into a vat of oil.) Anthony would prefer if it was called Jelly Donut & Pizza ('nuff said.)

The picure reminds me of the enjoyable time we always have when we go to Reno. We'd gone every year since we met but last year I couldn't because I was in a new job with no paid time off yet (no Anthony, I cannot affor to take time off without pay, neither financially nor mentally.) Maybe on our next visit (hopefully Spring) I'll finally take a picture of the Asian restaurant with the sign that reads, "Have a Rice Day."

Thanks for joining me on this short trip down memory lane. I wish you all a rice day!

Now the rules of the game:

1) Go to your picture folder, or wherever you store your photos on your computer
2) Go to the sixth folder and pick the sixth picture
3) Post it on your blog and tell the story that goes along with the picture
4) Tag five friends to do the same thing, and leave a message on their blog that they have been tagged~

I hereby TAG:

1. Jamee Jonara Blu Maui
2. Marjorie Marjorie's Cracked Plate Jewelry
3. Michelle Michivision
4. Willow Simply Willow
5. Wezz The World of Wezz

NOTE: IF YOU DON'T WANNA PLAY I WILL FORGIVE YOU...eventually.
